OLD BOYS v. DEBATING SOCIETY. (By “ Fielder.” The return match between these two teams was played yesterday afternoon, resulting in another win for the Old Boys by 2i runs. A fierce wind blew during the afternoon, making it impossible for the bowlers to keep a good length. The hatting on the whole was good, but the fielding was again tame, several “ sure ” catches being dropped. As predicted, the Debating Society gave a better display on their own ground, and at one stage it looked as though they would win. The inevitable “ tail ” however became prominent just as things were looking promising for the Debaters, and their anticipations of victory were soon turned into the certainty of defeat. The detailed scores are as follows : Old Boys. A. Shadbolt, bJ. Dunn ... 19 j W. Cook, bJ. Dunn 12 I F. Whibley, bJ. Dunn ... 5 A. Imrie, b J. Dunn 3 K. Furrie, run out 8 A. Overend, c R. Bruce, b J.
