FOXTON STATE SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the above Committee was held in the Council Chambers last evening, when there were present—Messrs A. 1 . Clemett (chairman), Rev, H. F. Wilson, 0. L. Barnard, H. Austin, and H. Bradcock. The chairman apologised for the absence of Mr Jenks and Mr G. r oley, both being unavoidably absent from Foxton The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed, and accounts were passed for payment. The head teacher’s report drew attention to the necessity for getting a subscription list in band to raise funds for the annual prizes to be presented on the breaking up of the school for the midsummer holidays on Frida/ week next, 16th inst. Mr Bradcock consented to take charge of the subscriotion list. As it would not be possible to give every child, in the school a prize, it was decided to give one to every child in the primmer and first standard, and prizes to the first and second boys and girls who passed the highest in the other standards. After considerable discussion, it was decided to grant permission to the Old Boys to play cricket matches on the school pitch, and to invite other teams competing to play there also, provided they keep the pitch in thorough repair and ask the head teacher’s permission on all occasions.
