General Kaulban has been given the . command of the second Manchurian army. .Field-Marshall Oyama, Generals Oku and Yodama, Prince Nashiraoto, and others celebrated King Edward's Birthday on the battle field. , The Grand Duke Alexis, as Ad-miral-General, thanked the captains of the- cruisers Smolensk and St. Petersburg for admirable manner in which they had executed their recent commission. The Japanese authorities have remonstra'ed with France regarding the Coaling and provisioning of vessels belonging to the Baltic fleet at French colonies. BRISBANE, Nov. 18. ■ H.M.S Cadmus, which was sent to investigate into the alleged appear ance'of Russian warships off Thursday Island, returned to Cooktown. It is understood there is no truth in the rumour.
