Montgomery’s Entertainers.
The- above company pave a per‘•rmance here last night in the Public Hall before a packed house. The performance was divided into two sections, the biograph views occupying part of the time, and the rest being devoted to music and conjuring. The Biograph pictures were excellent, the last one, representing a burning building being very realistic. Mr Montgomery’s illustrated songs were very effective, “ The Star and the Flower ” being specially noteworthy. Zeno, the juggler, also performed some clever tricks, while Messrs Harry Hall and Fred Gibson divided the humourous part of the programme between them. Of the ladies, Miss Hargood possesses a sweet, though not a powerful, voice, her singing being much appreciated by the audience; while Miss Norden played the piano accompaniments in a skilful and pleasing manner. It is a oilv that the Company did not start punctually at 8 o’clock, as to keep the audience waiting for half an hour beyond the appointed time is a prac. tice the sooner dispensed with the better.
