Levin to Greatford Railway.

The Minister for Public Wofks on Thursday night received a deputation, introduced by Messrs Field and Vile, M.H.R.’b of members of local bodies in the Eangitikei and Manawatu districts, who urged on the Minister the necessity of constructing a railway line to form part of the North Island Main Trunk line, from Levin through Foxton, Sandon, and Bulls, to Greatford, The Minister promised . to give the matter consideration when the other requests for railway extensions now before Cabinet were dealt with. The delegates gave evidence yesterday before the Public Petitions Committee in support of the petition recently presented to Parliament on this subject. .
