“ THERE WILL BE WAR/' Mr Rogers, of the Standard Oil Trust, in. an interview with President Roosevelt, vainly asked for an assurance from him that the Trust would not be prosecuted under the Sherman Act. On hearing of the refusal, Mr Rogers exclaimed--“ There will be war 1” President Roosevelt replied “Then there will be war; law will be no by-word with me !” The Oil Trust has since made efforts to bring about a ft reconciliation.”
