Tea and Concert.

The annuol tea and concert in connection with All Saints’ Church was held last night in the Public Hall. A large company sat down to lea, which was dispensed by the members of the Ladies’ Sewing Bee. Two sittings were necessary, and the ladies’ were kept exceedingly busy. At eight o’clock the concert was commenced, and for over an hoUr the large audience was entertained with solos, selections, etc., each item being well received. The audience was very generous With its applause, and encores Were numerous-. At the close of the entertainment Rev. H. F. Wilson thanked the performers for their service, special thanks being due to Mrs W, Cook, who had arranged the programme. The FoXton Brass Band played some excellent selections in front of the Hall prior to the opening of the concert. It is expected that the debt on the vicar-* age will be reduced by a considerable sum-. r lbe following programme was rendered Overture, Miss Hickson ; song, “ Evening Song,” (encored) Mrs Howarth; violin solo, “ Alice, where art thou ?” encore, “ The harp that once; ” song “ The Old Brigade,” Mr Geo. Barber; recitation “ Aunt 1 Tabltha,” encore “ Sale of Bachelors; ” Miss Matthews; song, “The Toilers,” Mrs Hunter; song, “Fetters of Gold,” (encored) Mr Walter Cook; song, “ Ring down the curtain,” Miss F. Simpson; song, “ Believe,” Mr Bert Shadbolt. Miss Hickson and Miss Cook played the accompaniments. The entertainment concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
