Fight With Reptiles.

In Messrs Hagenbecks worldfamous menagerie on June 23, there was a terrible struggle between two men arid liour huge boa-constrictors, measuring from 20ft to 28ft.- Mr Hagenbeck, jun., had entered the cage to prepare the four serpents for entraining, when the creatures, rendered restless by the great heat, suddenly attacked him. He called for help, and his father ran to his Ve*rqaieliesby sacks being thrown over their heads, but the third, weighing 299, twisted its tail round a beam and made furious darts at the men Its head was at last got into a box, and when Mr Hagenbeck, sen., freed its tail from the the beam it promptly seized his son’s leg, and the fight began again. It was not until after an hour’s continuous effort tha.t all the four snakes were got into the.cage for transport.
