OLD BOYS V, WANDERERS. The match between the above teams took place yesterday afternoon on the racecourse, and resulted in a win for the Old Boys by 7 points to 3. The match was played for a dinner, the losers to bear the cost. The game was very evenly contested throughout, though the Old Boys played with far more combination than their rivals, the passing among their backs being a treat to watch, and, from which we think our Awahou backs can take a lesson. For the winners, M. Cook scored a try, and B. Shadbolt potted a goal. Saville, who played the best forward game on the ground, scored for the Wanderers, taking the ball from one end of the field to the other. The game was played in the best of spirits throughout. Mr J.
