Suicide at Palmerston.

At an early hour this morning a young man named ‘Chas. Mitchell, aged about 20 years, committed sui cide at Kairanga by blowing the top of his head off with a shot-gun. Deceased bad only been in the district for the past two months, coming from Pleasant Point, Southland He had been working for Mr Fanner, and this morning went out to catch the horses as usual. He took a gun with him, and as he did not return a search resulted in his body being found at the gate of the horse paddock. He had placed the shot-gun at the side of his head near the temple and blew all the front portion of the skull away.
