We offered to-day 70 bales of wool, 8500 skins, 140 hides, and a quantity of ta low. Bidding continues spirited and competition keen. Some ten bales of half-bred erntebings realised 6fd, which is probably a record for this class of wool. Superior crossbred crutchings realised 6Jd to 6d, good crutchings 6d to inferior Bfd to 4£d. Some fleece wool realised 7sd, and washed lambs Bsd. Skins were very firm and any good large parcels of well saved skins sold at Jd advance on last sale. We quote—Merinos, 6Jd to 7d; halfbreds, 6Jd to 6fd ; fine crossbreds, 6jd to 6fd ; coarse, 6d to 6fd ; short wools, 6|d to 6d ; dead, 4d to 5d ; butchers green, 4s 6d to 5s Id each. Hides—Notwithstanding the drop of |d per lb in Melbourne and Sydney hides so d well up to last sale level. Some of the realisations to day were: Cows, 401bs, 18s to 15s; 501 bs, 16s to 17s; 601bs. 17s to 18s 6d ; 701 b, 18s 6d. Ox, 651bs, 22s to 24s ; 701bs, 22s to 25s ; 751bs, 24s 6d to 25-i; 801bs, 28s to 80s. Tallow—Only rough lots offering to-day which realised 14s to 15s 3d for rough fat and 15s 6d to 18s 3d for tallow. Wellington, 21th June, 1901.
