Messrs Levin & Go’s Report.

We offered 65 bales wool, 3000 skins, 200 hides and a quantity of tallow to-day. There was an excellent attendance of buyers, the sales appearing to attract more attention from outside buyers at each successive sale. Wool sold at full current rates. Crutchings which comprise the main offerings at this period, selling at record prices. The best crutchings realised 6d per lb, good crutchings 5d to 5-£d, inferior 3|d to 4|d. Skins. —There was excellent demand, prices were if anything better than recent quotations. We quote : Merino, 6-Jd to 7d ; halfbreds, 6Jd to 6fd ; fine crossbreds, 6d to 6£d ; coarse, s£d to 6£d ; short wools, 5d to 5Jd ; deid, 4d to 5d ; butchers’ skins, 4s 4d to 5s each. Hides.—There was a good entry of hides, a large proportion being good well saved bu chers’ hides. Prices were on a level hitherto unknown in Wellington. These hide auctions are now well established, and-vendors are feeling the advantage of this means of disposing of their hides. Some of the realisations to-day were : Cow, 401bs, 13s to 15s ; 501bs, 16s to 17s; 601bs. 16s 6d to 18s 3d ; 701bs to 801bs, 18s to 20s.
