Foxton State School.
The local school closed for the Easter holidays yesterday afternoon with the usual formalities. The children of iho standards wore assembled in the w.'st class-room, ami the chairman of the School Committee,. Mr A. domett, addressed them in a short, but appropriate speech,.full ot advice and kindly ( ncouragcnient. Ho concluded hts speech by formally notifying all concerned that the school would re-open, in accordance with the new regulations for holidays adopted by the Education Board, on Monday, the nth April. Cheers oi the usual hearty description were then given for the flag, the king, the chairman of the committee, the headmaster and his assistants, and “ our noble selves.” The inspiring function ended with the first verse of the National Anthem, sung in excellent style by the children, under the leadership of Miss McDonogh, mistfess.
