Wellington Wool and Skin Sales.
Messrs Levin & Co. report:—At the fortnightly sale to-day the comparatively large catalogues presented attracted a full attendance of buyers, several operators from other centres putting in an appearance. Tbe wool offered was composed of lambs wool, late fleece,-stragglers and oddments, and everything offered sold at prices in advance of anything r.uling at the sales here this season. We quote halfbred up to BJd, medium crossbred, no superior offering, to 7d, coarse crossbreds 6d to 6£d; logstained and inferior 5Jd to 6d; lambs wool G4d to Gfd. Skins—Competition was keen, particularly for short, w ols with sound pelts, this class bringing as high as 4fd and sd. We quote: Merinos 6£d to 7d, halfbreds 6d to 6}d, fine crossbreds to 6d, coarse 5d to s|d, short wools 4£d to 4fd, dead BJd to 4d. Hides -Ox hides, 17s 6d to 235; eow hides, 13s to 16s 6d. Tallow—Good mixed, 20s; station fat, 17a to 18s; rough fat, 13s to 14a 6d. Wellington, 18th March, 1904.
