His Lordship sympathised with, the views expressed by the deputation, and promised to confer with Archdeacon Williams on the matter. Archdeacon Williams has now informed the Otaki Natives that lie has gone fully into the matter with Bishop Wallis, and the Mission has decided to re-build the Otaki Native College as soon as possible. Archdeacon Williams states he has always been in favour of devoting the Porirua Trust moneys to the education of the Maoris in this district, and that no better centre than Otaki could be secured for the purpose of a college We understand that the new college will be on similar lines to the Te Ante College, which has done, I and is doing still, a splendid work ' among the young Natives, and to I which a number of the advanced pupils from the Otaki Native school I are sent. been urging the re-establishment of the Native College at Otaki. for many years past, and it is hoped that the work will be put in hand speedily, and that the Natives of the entire district may accord it their heartiest support.—Otaki Mail.
