The Missing Stationmaster.
THE MYSThRY CLEARED
The mysterious disappearance of Pedlar, the Sefton stationmaster, was partially cleared up on Thursday morning by the return of the youth Croft, who accompanied Pedlar. Croft said that on Wednesday night Pedlar, at the pig-hunting camp which they had made behind Mount Gray, stated he was in trouble with his accounts, Croft concluded that under the circumstances, it would be wise to leave Pedlar and return to Sefton. Croft further states that the police in the course of their search, passed within two ■ miles of the camp. It is understood that the station accounts are correct up to the end of last week, and that a sum amounting to £44, paid in on Friday, Saturday and Monday last, may be accounted for on Pedlar’s re-appear-ance. THE WANDERER RETURNS. Pedlar, the missing stationmaster, was met returning to Sefton on Thursday evening by a party which was making for the Mount Gray camp under the guidance of Croft. He handed over the missing money, but gave no reason for his disappearance.
