A Stationmaster Missing.

BELIEVED TO HAVE GONE ON A HUNTING PICNIC. The train from Oulverden to Christchurch, on reaching Sefton on Tuesday morning, found the station locked and the station master missing. As the driver and guard had been fined on a previous occasion for passing through the station when locked they refused to proceed and waited for 75 minutes till arrangements were made. It is believed the station master has gone on a hunting picnic in company with a man who is also missing. He purchased a revolver, cartridges, tea and matches on Monday, and blankets and a billy can are missing from his house. A search is being made and in the meantime the foreman of the repairing gang has taken up the duties of the missing man.
