At Palmerston on Thursday a good entry of both sheep and cattle came forward-. Cattle buyers were inclined to be Oautious on account of the continued spell of weather, but with few exceptions we managed to dispose of everything, although in some cases vendors had to reduce their reserves. A fair demand existed for sheep and a good clearance was affected. We quote— Sheep—Fat ewes and wethers, 14s 3d; fat ewes, 12s 4d to las 6d; fat lambs, ns; mixed a-tooths, ns 6d; ewes (mixed ages), tis 2d; lambs, 53 yd to 6s Bd. Cattle—Forward bullocks, £6 10s; xB-mths steers, £3 5s to £3 ys 6d; 2-yr steers, £4 7s 6d; 3-yr do., £5 ss; weaners and yearlings, £2, is; weaner heifers, 355; mixed weaners, 24s to 30s ; yearling and iB-mths heifers, £3 ss; store cows, £3 ys 6d to £3 12s ; fat cows, £5 10s to £6 is.
