Advice to Young Men.
BETTING CONDEMNED.
The Duke of Portland, addressing the Young Men’s Christian Association at Mansfield, advised his hearers to give a cold shoulder to bookmakers. He enjoyed much pleasure from twenty years’ connection with the turf, but in betting a man lost half the enjoyment besides large sums. With the best horses and the best information it was impossible to win at betting.
