Message From the Sea.
A buttle which was picked up at the mouth of the Waikawa river, a few miles northward of Otaki, on Saturday last contained a piece of paper, apparently a fragment of a letter, on which was written in pencil, “ Kindness is all in all—from Deca, Ind. Ti. 27.1.1901, off petown.’' Pinned to the missive SB a small piece of purer on which is printed a regimenval coat of anus _ an eagle with oui-MK-Zicd wing-, with the logon Lvsff-- Vies; Troop I’onUKiy . ‘ nvsr AW oicrw If the message bom lido, the bottle has oceuphd throe years in drifting from the Cape tc Kcw Zealand. The bottle iuid only recently Jbeen cast ashore.
