All Saints’ Tea and Social

The weather fortunately kept fine for the above, and consequently a good number attended at the Public Hall last evening. The ladies of the Guild had worked hard in the afternoon to get everything in order for the number that were expected to be present, which was timed for 6.30. However; before that time arrived, the two tables which ran down the whole length of the hall were filled with visitors, and it was deemed advisable to make a start upon the good things provided. The tables were well provisioned, so that many who could not find seating accommodation at the commencement were well attended to later on After the tea an excellent programme of music, etc., was gone through, and the following performers acquitted themselves successfully:—Miss and Master L. Jenks, pianoforte duet; song, Eev. W. F. Wilson; song, “The Flight of Ages,” Miss O'Keefe; coon song, Mesdames Clemett and Symons,’ Rev. W. F. Wilson and Mr Cook; recitation, “ The Execution of Montrose,” Miss M Barnard; song, “ The Motor Gar,” ' Mrs Currie ; song, “ Ever of Thee,” Mr J. Reid; quintette, “The Happy Peasant,” Misses Jenks and Simpson, and Masters Currie and Robinson; violin duet, Misses Aya and B. Symons';

song, “ The Pardon came too late/* Miss Mackay; song, “ Because I Love You,” Miss O’Keefe; comic song, Mr J. Reid; song, “ A Picture no Artist can Paint,” Mrs Currie. “God Save the King” concluded the entertainment. The new performers were Misses O’Keefe, and Mr Reid, whoap itertis met with much appreciation and were thoroughly enjoyed. Before the concluding item the Rev. W, F. Wilson thanked the ladies of the Guild, assistants, the performers and those who had attended. Great credit is due to the for carrying out the tea and social so successfully, as close on £lO will result from their efforts for funds in aid of the Church.
