Mounsey and Co.
Mounsey and Co. report a brisk market at their rooms on Saturday at Palmerston. Pigs and poultry came forward in fair numbers, prices remaining firm with last quotations. The market was flooded with produce, vendors being anxious to quit. There was a good demand for household furniture, a large quantity being disposed of with satisfactory results. On Thursday *we seld fruit trees and ornamental plants, all being disposed at fair prices. We quote—Pigs: weaners 93 to 15s. Poultry : laying hens as to 5s per pair, table fowls 4s to Bs, cockerels 5s to ios; ducks 5s to 78. 1 Produce, table potatoes £3 10s to £4 4s, pig do. 36s to £2 as, seed potatoes to /8; hay £2 10s to £3 15s; chaff i£% to £3 ios; seed oats 12s.
