Foxton Athletic Club.

A meeting of the Committee of the above Club was held at Mr Haywood’s Hotel last night at 8 o’clock. Present—-Messrs R. Noonan (chair)* and Messrs E. Healey, W. Cook, A. Shadbolt, F. Martin, L. Wilson and E. E. Smith (secretary.) The minutes of the last meeting WiW read and confirmed.

A letter was read froruMr T. Hay* wood accepting the position of vice* president of the Club, and enclosing cheque for one guinea, and also pro* raising a trophy, It was reported that the Motoa Syn* dicate (Messrs Stevens, Easton, and Austin), had donated a cup, valued at £l2, to be won twice in succession, or three times at intervals.

Mr Haywood's and Messrs Stereos, Easton and Austin’s donations were received with' thanks.

The question of the Club becoming affiliated with the New Zeaiand![Wbeel* men was left over for future considers* tion, the secretary to make enquiries in the meantime.

A programme that had been drafted was submitted for approval, and after consideration was adopted. It was decided to write several brass bands and enquire terms for playing on sports day. It was resolved that the secretary write the Railway Department re trains from Palmerston and Feilding, asking what terms they wilt allow. The state of the running tracks was mentioned, and it was decided to approach the Borough Council on the subject. The meeting then adjourned. .
