Daring Lady Alpinist.

A'New York correspondent gays that Miss Annie Peck, formerly a Professor of Latin in Purcloa University, will attempt the ascent of Mount Sorata, the highest mountain on the western hemisphere. The summit of Mount Sorata is 25,000 feet above sea level, and it is the one peak which has baffled the intrepid Sir Martin Conway. She will have as her scientific assistant Dr Tight, President of the University of. New Mexico', and the two Swiss Alpine guides who were with Sir Martin Conway when he made his attempt. Miss Peck is one of the most adept lady mountaineers in the world. She has already done the Matterhorn, the Jungfrau, and Yuffingerspitze, the most difficult ascents in Europe; and also Popocatepetl and Orizaba in Mexico.
