Burglaries in Wellington.
The office of P. Hutson and Co., brickmakers, was broken into early on Sunday morning. The safe was removed to a paddock close by, and blown open with dynamite. Only £2 15s was secured by the burglars. During church time on Sunday evening, the residence of Mrs Haskett, of Caroline Street, was entered, and about £lO in cash and £45 worth of jewellery, including some belonging to Miss Sutcliffe, of Christchurch, a niece of Mrs Mackett, together with a writing desk, containing valuable documents, was stolen. The police on Monday morning arrested Henry Jefferd and Daniel Munro in connection with Messrs P. Hutson and Co.’s burglary.
