The Far East.
Japan is pressing for the opening of the town of Wiju, at the mouth of the Yalu river, in Korea Bay to trade. The Korean Government pleaded that Russia objected. Japan replied that the decision in the matter was vested solely in Korea. A protest was also lodged by Japan against Russia laying a cable from Autung to Yonganpho, in Western Korea, as a breach of Japan’s vested interests.
