Accidental Poisoning.

A most extraordinary accident occurred on Monday night, when Me D. Russell, school teacher of Waihou, near Te Aroha, and bis wife and three girls, ranging from twelve to three years of age, were accidentally poisoned with phosphorous. It appears that while the youngest girl was playing with a teapot and a box of wax vestas, which unknown to her sister she put into the teapot, tea was made, and the accident was not discovered till the meal was nearly finished, and the teapot was being filled a second time. Then the box of matches was seen in tbs teapot. A doctor was immediately telegraphed for. Meanwhile emetics were administered with good effect. When the doctor arrived Mrs Bussell was in a semi-collapsed condition, but the others were out of danger. On Tuesday Mrs Russell was reported to be progressing favourably.
