Jas. McGowan gave notice to introduce the Supreme Court Judges Bill. Two months leave was granted to Mr F M. Wilford on account of ill-health. When the House met at 7.30, Mr Rutherford moved the Address-in-Reply,' which was seconded by Mr Major. The House rose at 10 30 p.m. In reply to questions, Minsters stated that proposals would be submitted to the House dealing with the thorough equipment of training colleges for teachers; and that the maximum weight of sacks of wheat carried on the New Zealand railways would be fixed at 2001bs. On the motion for the setting up of the usual Sessional Committees, Mr Jas. Allen protested against the present system of appointing these committees. Mr Seddon gave notice to move that Mr Millar, member for Dunedin be appointed Chairman of Committees.
