Smallpox at Launceston.

FURTHER CASES REPORTED.

He points out that it is distant from the scene of the outbreak, and that every precaution is being taken. As Tasmania has been declared infected, the Union Company has decided that its steamers between New Zealand and Melbourne shall not call at Hobart. Meantime the company has arranged that passengers holding return tickets for Hobart Hbay proceed to Melbourne Wlthoubeitra,charge, but must find their own way to Hobart. Passengers and cargo for Hobart will be booked via Melbourne at higher rates than those previously charged. The tour of a visiting team of South Melbourne footballers has been interrupts# owing to the smallpox outbreak. After being vaccinated, tbs numbers of the team are to return to Melbourne. They were not allowed to proceed to Hobart, where matches had been arranged.
