Foxton Borough Council.

A speeial meeting of the above was held on Thursday evening at 7.30 o’clock.

Present-—His Worship the Mayor (Cr Westwood), and Cr Symons, Gower, Coley, Austin, Overend, Speirs, Stiles and Coley.. The Council considered the resignation of Mr Nye, the Borough overseer lor tbeioan money, and it was Proposed by the Mayor, seconded by Cr Gower, That the resignation of Mr George Nye as overseer of loan expenditura be accepted with regret, and that the clerk be instructed to write a suitable letter to Mr Nye. Carried. Proposed by Cr Stiles, seconded by Cr Gower, That the owners of properties in Baker and Howan streets and northern end of No 6, Line be requested to trim overhanging hedges so as to allow the clearing of drains to proceed, and to grub up gorse and other noxious weeds on road. Carried.
