Russia and “The Times.”

The Prime. Minister (Mr A. J. Balfour), replying to a question in the House of Commons in reference to the recent explusion of “ The Times” correspondent from St. Petersburg, said the Government was not aware of any precedent for the expulsion of a British correspondent owing to the tone , of the newspaper he represented, • Mr Balfour added that the British Ambassador at St. Petersburg (Sir Charles Scott) sought to obtain a rescission of the order and to protect the correspondent from unduly harsh treatment.
