ELECTION OF SCHOOL COM.

MITTEE.

The annual meeting of householders was held last evening In the school* room, when a most representatlvetoiitaber of over thirty attended; ’ Mr Thos. Westwood was voted to the chair. The clerk (Me S. H. Baker), read the report and balance-sheet, which was of a highly satisfactory character. Both were adopted as read. ... A hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mr G. Coley for his donation to the school of an asphalt cricket pitch. Mr Hennessy asked if it was correct that the examination at the school was to be postponed for two months. He thought the committee should protest against such a proceedingThe chairman said he bad received no word officially, but the head-master (Mr Stewart) bad, and as. it was the general wish of the meeting, he would place the matter before the new committee to write the Board against any alteration. The election of a committee was then proceeded with, there‘being sixteen candidates, and the required number being nine. The following were appointed Messrs F. E. Jenks, Geo. Coley, T. Westwood, A. D, Clemett, H. F. Wilson, S. H. Baker, W. Robinson, H. Bradcock, H. Austin. . j Votes of thanks were passed to the late committee and chairman. COMMITTEE MEETING. At the committee meeting Mr T. Westwood was re-elected chairman, and Mr S. H. Baker was also re-elected clerk. The committee decided to hold their meetings on the first Wednesday in each month at 7.30 p.m.
