Cadet Corps.
The Premier has informed Mr W T. Wood, - M.H.R., that £lO per annum in addition to capitation has been granted to defence cadets, except those connected with high schools or colleges, for the hire of drill halls, lighting, etc. Two shillings per day has also been granted to cadets during their annual week's camp. The question of granting commissions to cadet officers is under consideration, and regulations in regard to this and other ara being prepared.* i, . A staff'officer has beetf appointed to instruct and report upon, cadet corps, a large number of which are shortly to be armed . .with MartiniEn fields in place of the carbines now in use. '
