COUNCILLORS. Yesterday, at noon, the Returning Officer declared that the following persona had been duly nominated for the office of Councillor, and as more names had been proposed than there were vacancies, an election would be held on Wednesday, the 29th April : Austin, Oliver Edward Nominated by Messrs A. Cook and J. N. Symons. Baker, Samuel Henry Nominated by Messrs P. Hennessy and E Osborne, Coley, George Charles Nominated by Messrs F. S. Easton and T. East. Cook, Alfred Nominated by Messrs Reade and W. Hamer. Gower, Bernard Gapper Nominated by Messrs W. Robinson and F. Jenks. Hamer, William Nominated by Messrs A. Cook and T. Westwood. Simpson, George Nominated by Messrs Osborne and T. Westwood, Speirs, Alexander Nominated by Messrs R H. Barber and J F. Overend. Stiles, George Henry Nominated by Messrs Simpson and Westwood. Symons, James Nash Nominated by Messrs Stiles and Hennessy. Walsh, John William Nominated by Messrs Reade and C. F. England. Westwood, Thomas Nominated by Messrs Simpson and T. Mitchell. MAYOR. The Returning Officer likewise declared that for the office of fll ayor, only one nomination had been received, that of Philip John Hennessy, whom he declared to be duly elected.
