Immigration to Canada.
A Reuter’s message from Canada states that a deputation from labour organisations asked that legislation be provided by the Canadian Government in the direction of making it unlawful to prepay the passage or assist the immigration to Canada of any persons under contract for labour. Sir William Mulock PostmasterGeneral, replied that the proposal w T as against public interest, and interimperial'sentiment, and would check - British immigrants from coming to Canada. It was objectionable from every point of view.
