Strikes.

IN HOLLAND. The dockers and others engaged in the water transport services have joined the land transport men on strike, as a protest against the antistrike law. The diamond cutters have also struck lut of sympathy with the other men. The streets of Amsterdam became so crowded with demonstrators, roughs and idlers that tbs police, in order to disperse them, drew their sabres.- One man had his hand severed. A meeting of 8900 dockers held in Rotterdam decided to join the railway strikers, A strike of bakers has also been ordered. A general ■ lock-out has been declared at Amsterdam, Some engine-drivers at Rotterdam have resumed work. IN SWITZERLAND.

Two thousand five hundred masons in the town of Basle, Switzerland, have struck work.

The strikers atoned the police, who were protecting non-strikers.

The troops have been called out to assist the police in keeping order.
