The North Sea Squadron.

The Government, which originally purchased 900 acres of the Marquis of Linlithgow’s land at St. Margaret’s Hope, on the north side of the Firth of Forth, as a site for a new naval base for the North Sea squadron, has since acquired another 200 acres, and will probably make further purchases.

It is estimated that a town of forty thousand inhabitants will ultimately be formed on the site.

It is proposed to acquire Inverkeithing Bay as a harbour for destroyers and small craft.
