Episcopal Arithmetic.

A story is told of a certain Bishop who was notorious for his inability to master figures. He was relating to some friends an anecdote about his cook, who was desirous of taking a ticket in a lottery, and who had dreamed several times of the numbers 5 and 7, She said to herself, “NpW, five and seven make thirteen; I’ll buy number thirteen in the lottery.” This she did, and won. All the audience laughed, but the Bishop failed for a long time to see the joke. At last it dawned on him. " How stupid of mo,” ho said “Of oturse five and seven don’t make thirteen at all; it's eleven!"
