The Gordon Scandal.
A writ of attachment has been issued against Lady Gordon, who disappeared with her child while Mr Justice Jeune was summing up in a case in the Divorce Court,to, decide the' custody of the child. Lady Gordon was the wife ofChristian Gordon, a member of thb Stock Exchange, who .divorced, her on account of adultery with his cousin, Lord Granville, the being granted the custody of the child. After marrying the co-re-spondent, Lady 'Gordon sought to gaisi custody of the child, she and her Q«V husband both stating the latter to be the father, Mr Justice Jeune decided "against them, but during his summing up Lady Gordon fled with the child,-and reached France. •
Lady Gordon haa now written from France to her husbaud, admitting her flight, and adding that it was the only thing she could do, and ~ that she would not give up her child.
Lord Granville states that he will remain and “face the muaicj v and his wife will live abroad for years. The only way to recover the child, he adds will be to kidnap her.
