SHANNON BRIDGE.
Mr Davies again attended a deputation with the Shannon residents as to a subsidy, for the Shannon Bridge. At the meeting of the Commissioner Mr Davies stated most emphatically that he had a promise of a subsidy, but he has attended three deputations to the Government since, and has never declared what Minister it was who had made this promise. It appears he has fared as badly this time as previously, as the Premier held out but little hope of assistance, though he promised to make further inquiry before giving a final answer.
