The “Good Hope."
Mr Chamberlain’s cabin on board the Good Hope is that generally used by the Rear-Admiral’s sec-, tary. It is on the starboard side and the bunk was made way for a small brass bedstead. .This, with a writing-table, a chest of drawers and other necessary appointments, makes up the furnishing. For ventilating purposes an electric fan has been, fitted, and an electric radiator is to be used for heating purposes. RearAdmiral Fawkes has given up his cabin to Mrs Chamberlain, who also has a boudoir bn the after-bridge. Curtains of cretonne in appleblossom pattern are fitted to the windows, and a lounge and a couple of armchairs complete the equipment. For dining purposes the Admiral’s fore-cabin will be used. The sitting room is astern. Cabins have also been allotted to Mr Chamberlain’s secretaries. The apartments are on the main deck, where the lower casemates of the 6in guns open, and two of the upper casements are utilised as smoking-rooms.
