Heat in Australia
Three deaths from heat apoplexy have occurred in the country. A man was struck dead by lightning, and two others were slightly injured. The weather in Queensland is abnormally hot. The thermometer registers 105 degrees in the shade in the city, and 119 at Thargomindah, 670 miles west of Brisbane.
Fifteen deaths which have occured in the Richmond river district are attributed to heat.
