Chinese Affairs
The last German detachment has quitted Shanghai. The majority, of the troops are returning home ; the rest go to Tsingtan. A Britiah-Ohinese Corporation has secured an agreement for the construction of the ShanghaiNanbin railway, instead of the preliminai’y contract of May, 1898, The terms follow the conditions of the Hankow-Canton railway. The restoration to China of the Imperial palaces at Mukden, in Manchuria, began on Saturday.
