Frontier Fighting.
The Khels and Waziris are obstinately resisting the British expeditionary force on the Northwestern Frontier of India.
Lieut.-Colonel V. C. Toanochy, commanding the fourth column, has been badly wounded.
Reinforcements have been asked for and promised.
Colonel Moore’s column is advancing on the Waziris from Idar. Colonel Radford’s from Barganthi, and Colonel Tonnochy’s from uumati.
General Egerton accompanies Colonel Pollock.
j It is officially announce(jfc£thafc ■ General Egerton reached Shiwa on on the 18th inst. without opposition. Spinwan was occupied on the 17th I inst., after slight opposition, and j 250 prisoners, 3500 cattle and some arms were captured, j A Reuter’s message states that Colonel Mcßae is entrenced at Spinwan. Captain White was killed at the j head of a party of Colonel Ton- { noch’s force while storming’a strong j tower at Gumati. The defenders who included six outlaws, were, kilted.
ThreS officers and eight Sikhs wore wounded. Colonel Tonnochy died of injuries.
