Mr Stevens at Moutoa.

Last night the meeting arranged by Mr Slovens at Moutoa clashed with a social, but ha made the best of the position. He attended the social and was promptly made the chairman of the gathering, the duties of which he executed to the entire satisfaction of the gathering. There was an interval between tbe portions of the programme which Mr Stevens promptly filled by a short address on the political situation. This the audience seemed to appreciate and at the conclusion Mr John Carter moved a hearty vote of thanks and confidence which was seconded by Mr Alex Saunders, and being put was carried unanimously. An account of the entertainment will appear in our next issue.
