The Wanganui Herald.

On Wednesday last our esteemed contemporary, the “ Wanganui Herald,” came out as an eight-paged paper. It contains seven columns of thirteen “ ems ” pica, and the length of column 22 inches.

Thirty-five years ago, the late Mr Ballance founded an evening daily paper, and since his death the paper has been carried on by a company. The paper was started as the representative of independent thought and action in Wanganui, and has been so supported that we find it being produced, day by day, in a form equal to p»ny paper except those of the four largest centres, and thus reflects to much advantage on its proprietors and the public who supports it.
