The King and Queen.
The King and Queen Alexandra drove quietly to St. Paul’s to attend the thanksgiving service, accompanied by a small escort of Guards, the Prince of Wales and many other members of the Royal family Joining them before the service began,
There Was an immense congregation, and thousands were unable to gain admission. The Home Secretary (Right Hon. A. Akers-Douglas) has informed the Lord Mayor that their Majesties were highly gratified with the loyal reception given to them by the citizens in their progress through London on Saturday, and also with the hospitality shown to them at the Guildhall.
His Majesty has reviewed and addressed a parade of four thousand troops of the Guards. Queen Alexandra was also present. The proprietor of the “ Daily Express” (Mr C. Arthur Pearson) provided a banquet for the crew of H.M.S. Terrible at the Holborn Restaurant.
