A. B. Worthington.

The trial of Arthur B. Worthington, formerly of Christchurch, minister of the Unitarian Church, on the charge of having obtained £IO9O from Madame La Jouveny by means of false pretences, is leading to some interesting disclosures. The prosecutrix, when asked to explain certain endearing letters, stated that Mrs Worthington was suffering from a heart trouble, and Worthington said she would not live twelve months. He had asked the prosecutrix whether she would become his wife if anything happened to Mrs Worthington. Witness told him her regard for him was nothing more than sisterly. The case for the Grown has closed, and tho defence has commenced.
