A Cyclone in Sicily
■ A cyclone lasting twenty-four hours swept over Catania, in Sicily. A German steamer foundered in too storm.
Great havoc Was done by the swollen streams, and it is estimated that four hundred persona have perished. At Modica a hundred bodies wore recovered.
The flood swept everything from tho ground floors of buildings in the lower streets.
The torrent inland destroyed bridges and roads, and several houses were washed away with their inmates at Sicily. The craters of Vulcano and Strom* boli were active.
