Messrs Abraham and Williams re port as follows
At Palmerston the present cold snap made itself felt appreciably and though there was a fair attendance bidding was duller than for some weeks past. We had a small entry of sheep only and a full yarding of cattle. Dairy cow# and heifers sold freely. The young cattle sold on account of Messrs Barber Bros, showed a lot of quality andwere a great bargain at the prices realised. At the clearing sales a ten* dency to lower prices has been perceptible,;
The following are the quotations:— At Palmerston—Fat and forward wethers, 12s 3d to 14s rod; light ewes, its toias; hoggets, 6s nd to 853 d; cull hoggets, 3s 4d; cull ewes, zs gd to 3# '3d* Cattle: Light cows, £6 6s to £7 15 s I heifers, £5 xos to £6 73 ; forward bullocks, £7 7s 6d to £7 xos ; 3 and 4ryear store bullocks, £6 is 6d to £6 i6s 6d; well-bred yearling steers, £3 49 6d ; heifers, £2, us 6d ; mixed jrearlings, £2 16s to £3 as; weaners, a6s to 30s; guaranteed cows, £6 to £8 xos; heifers close to profit, £7 7s 6d to £7 15s; backward heifers, £5 ss; store cows, £3 5s to £4.
